christmas

I have been busy with christmas preparations and always at this time of year I find very little time for blogging and scrapbooking as I am decorating the house etc. Yesterday all the decorations went away for the year with the help of my little elves, and I can throw my self into another year of scrapbooking, I find it suits me to take a break and do none over christmas, looking forward to when every thing is back to normal and tidy for the new year, by then I cant wait to scrapbook  lol

trinket boxes

I just finished the last of these trinket boxes, they will be gifts for the girls in the family, and are made from Craft Concepts wooden boxes available from print blocks. They were so easy and cheap to decorate, just some old papers, pearls, a little lace and chip corners, and some old earrings or cameos. What better way to recycle and create at the same time, and to blend it all together I have dry brushed them with gesso. I will find a sparkly bracelet to go in each and I have three presents sorted!

Home sweet Home

I had such fun decorating these fun little bird houses from Print Blocks, it is amazing the things you squirrel away for future projects, little feathers pine cones, nests and leaves. I even had the word nest from an old project, and for the tiny eggs I used the tips of cotton buds spritzed with glimmer mist. The nest house has eggshell for the roof which works really well. I have used lots of gesso of course, the pearls I used were black and not the right colour so I swiped some white gesso over them, it took 2 seconds to alter the colour, how easy!
