Couture Creations Bird cage1

A little Birdy told me
By Sue Smyth

How elegant is the Couture Creations Glamour Days
Birdcage die. I just could not resist making
a few clever little gift tokens from it.
I am sharing one of them today, but look out for
another version later.

Nestled in side is a sweet little blue bird,
sitting on a mossy nest, surrounded by flowers.

Add some decorative beads and you
have a gorgeous hanging token.

Die cut 2 birdcages from chipboard, paint white with gesso and
allow to dry. Several coats will give good coverage. I have used
chipboard to give the token sturdiness.

Coat with a Dimensional glue and sprinkle with glitter.
This gives a good solid coat and will not warp the cardstock.

Use a hole punch to create a hole in the top of each cage.

Trim a small piece of chip to fit the bottom of the cage, score
the sides and paint with gesso, allow to dry. Then adhere to cages as pictured.

Emboss the little bird with Blue embossing powder,
then trim a small piece of cardstock to fit over the winged area.

Glue white cardstock over wing area on reverse of bird.
then fill the wing with Silver Glitz in Glamour.

Adhere bird to back of cage, and trim out the swing
on the front cage, so you can see the bird easily.
Add pearls, you may have to use extra
glue to make them adhere properly to the glittery
surface.

String some decorative beads on to silver twine
and hang bird cage

Finish with a cluster of moss, flowers and muslin.
Die cut leaves from green cardstock, with Aurora vine die
and flowers with Retro flowers die  from purple cardstock.
Tuck into cluster and add purple Glitz in Glamour to the tiny flowers.
