Fairy Light
by Sue Smyth
My challenge today is to recycle just an ordinary vegimite jar into
something pretty.
I did not want to use a fancy jar as that would not be the
point, it had to be a jar that everybody could access.
So with a little gesso, dies and glitter glue, I made this fairy
tee light holder that can be made from any old jar.
I wanted nice transparent glittery wings for my fairy, so
check out the step by steps below to achieve the same
look with Crystallina Glitzn Glamour glitter glue.
I have added fibres, pearls and paper roses to make a sweet
little garden for my fairy to sit in.
First die cut a few sleeping stems from assorted cardstock and
adhere to the jar with dimensional magic or gel medium. Allow
to dry.
Then dry brush with gesso
Die cut the fairy from some patterned paper, if you are clever
position the die so the darker edge appears on the ends of the wings.
Then place the die cut onto baking paper, smear
Crystallina Glitzn Glamour glitter glue over the wings,
making sure to fill in the gaps in the wings.
Allow to dry (this may take a day)
When dry it will peel off the baking paper with the
glitter glue dried in the gaps of the wings.
Adhere the body only of the fairy to the jar with dimensional magic
Spray over with a glimmer mist and dry brush with
gold metallic paint.
Then add pearls, fibres, flowers and a row of
faux grass to the bottom to finish.
