bling-abilities

I have made this little trinket box with Spellbinders Rose Creations, as usual, I am sure I am addicted to them, this time I have used the new Bling-abilities. check out the Down Under Inspirations blog on the side, basically they are iron on bling, already arranged to fit your spellbinders, so easy and tidy, and the little glass stones are so brilliant. Much better than the dull plastic ones. What I really like on this flower, is the micro beads, I have very carefully swiped dimensional magic over the tops of the petals and drenched the flower in clear micro beads, then shake off the excess (save) and the beads are left clinging to the dimensional magic, it looks like dew drops, and so shiny and sparkly...matches the bling so well just finished a class at Print Blocks yesterday, and it was wonderful to teach so many talented and engaged ladies, a big hi to you all and thanks, will see you again soon. mean while I keep pluggin away on the magazine, working on issue 15 at the moment and issue 14 is due out very soon. I might be baised, but I think it looks great, with a lovely yellow layout on the cover, thanks Geli!!lol

feathered friends

I have been lucky enough to be playing with some of the new spellbinders dies, due out soon at your local shop. This layout features their new Mbossiblities, they are really neat embossing folders with two designs a different one each side, must have been a woman who designed this soooo practical. I have used them on the corners and rubbed over Inka Gold to give it a variety of luminous colour, I have also used the Jeweled Fantasies (peacock Feathers) die to create wonderful wisps of feathers, not that they relate to the little duckling, but they look great. To create the flowers i have cut out organza with Spellbinders Rose creations, surely one of my favourite die sets, and spritzed them with a little glimmer mist, then just heat them with the heat gun, not a lot, just enough to shrink and wrinkle the petals, it gives the flower a tighter rose like look. I love this old photo of my daughter, and a little baby duckling, they both are so cute. Mean while I am very busy with the magazine and was at the papercraft show on the weekend, having fun in my element, craft every where.

peacock card

This week I am sharing a lovely peacock card, made with the new Spellbinders, jewel fantasies. I love the colours of peacock feathers, there is nothing like that mix of colours and iridescent sheen. I have heaps of them in a brass vase, I know they are supposed to be bad luck. Maybe that is why my fridge broke down lately? seriously I dont seem to do to badly..lol I have dabbed lumieres on the feathers, with my finger, nice and messy, but i found you had more control over the paint this way. The die cuts these feathers really fine, at first I thought I would not like them so thin, but working with them, the size is just right, for a fine feathery embellishment. Later in the month I have done a layout with them too, so check again later.

growing up

Here is a boy page for you all, we do seem to shy away from masculine work, probably because most scrapbookers are girls and like girly things. seems logical to me, but i try to take it turn about to create a boy page, as i have two boys, some times you have to get really creative with your embellishments, you can check out Down Under Inspirations, for the details on this one(at the side)
