Co-ordinations Blog Hop

Co-Ordinations Blog Hop

Today I am sharing a card and tag made with Co-Ordinations cardstock an Couture Creations Dies and folder. I love to use the Doily dies to create lacy edges. This is easily done by
placing the die and cardstock half off the C plate, so that only one side cuts as pictured below
step 1

step 2

step 3
This is a nifty way of making slotted cards too

Next is a cute tag that you can attach to a parcel or card front for someone special.

To create the blue flower, cut the largest die from blue cardstock, then cut into a spiral, curl spiral up and glue in place. Spray with adhesive and sprinkle with white glitter.

Couture Creations Card by Sue Smyth

This sweet little card is a cinch to make with Couture Creations dies and embossing folders and in the centre of the lacy flower there is a favourite thing I like to do, faux opals, you will never guess how they are made. They are a bit of work, but are great if you have a budget and dont want to spend too much on the card. I like to make up lots at once and keep them in my stash for later.

Couture Creations Materials
Couture Creations Cheerful Embossing folder C072382
Couture Creations Endless dreams Tranquility C0723435
Couture Creations Fantasia Ivy Set C072322
Pink  & Crystalina Glitz N Glamour

Other Materials
Pink stamp pad
White, Pink and green cardstock
Crushed Olive Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Paint
Light Chipboard
Stampendous Shaved Ice
Dimensional Magic
Gesso
Greetings stamp

Faux Opal

Step 1
Cut a small circle with a die or punch from lightweight chipboard

Step 2
Ink all over with an ink that matches the Glitz N Glamour colour you choose, allow to dry.

Step 3
Coat with Glitz N Glamour, allow to dry

Step 4
The Couture Creations Tool is perfect to add shards of shaved ice into the Glitz N Glamour. Allow to dry.

Step 4
Coat with dimensional magic to create a nice dome. Allow to dry.

Handy Hint
If the dimensional magic cracks just re coat it, add as many layers as it needs to create a build up of layers and a dome like surface.

faded glamour

Hi Last week my bleach cards were published in Australian Simply Cards, issue 35. I was so pleased with the result, they photographed them beautifully and the full colour came through. I hope every one has fun following the instructions and that there are no mistakes, always a worry when writing instructions...lol.

I have been revamping my workshop with new tables and making otp s to put around the walls etc. Now I am starting all my christmas work, I have a few projects done, but much more to do so see you...

pennant card

Yet another busy week, but I have all my jobs done, I will share with you a
card I have done for Down Under direct using the pennants, they really are so useful, You dont think so at first, but they do cards and neat little trees too, these trees fold up to be able to post them. I think I may teach these at christmas, which is fast approaching.

fairy queen

Just finished this card for Paper Trenz using the new Stampendous clear stamp
of a Fairy Queen, it has a oval window in which you see the beautiful fairy queen
I love it. This is a more involved card and we will be making it at paper trenz
coming up. I think a full Saturday workshop will suit this card. I have included a few pics of other cards we are doing this month too. Cards from old book pages is great fun and recycling too

gothic card

I love the spellbinders Cross collection, it is an oldie but a goodie, however it can
be hard to use them as much as you might like to. I mean how often do we do a christening card?
So I wanted to make a card that had a gothic feel so the use of an ornate cross would not look out of place.
I have used the impressabilites to emboss the whole card, and labels to cut the ornate card shape. I love to brush the embossed cross with rich gold paint too, it gives it an old look ...

Down under inspiration card

hi everyone , here is another card I have done for the down under blog...it is a pocket or sleeve with a tag enclosed. I love making the little embellishment, it is just 3 circles cut of each size 6 in total, then I fringe the circles(a little tedious but not much) ink the edges if you like, then poke a hole in the centre and thread them all on to a brad. I like to cover the brad with lovely ornate button. I am lucky as I have a huge jar of these gold and silver buttons, courtesy of my grandmother. I have also used the nested pennet spellbinder dies, they really are more useful than you would think, keep an eye out for christmas in july ideas...

nature walk

I taught this class yesterday at Paper Trenz and everybody loved it lots of H2Os and stamping, to make this card look like windows into nature, it can stand on it's own on the shelf and reminds us all what nature has to offer.

down under inspirations card

Well my first card is up on the Down Under Inspirations site...see link on the right hand side of my blog to go there...this card is really very easy to make just use one of the beaded circle dies to cut out a folded card (all you have to do is have the edge of a folded card inside the die so it dosnt cut) then cut another whole beaded circle to use as the front of the easel style card. score one side of the folded card. so you can use this to adhere the single beaded circle to the bottom part...then it sits up.

Tthen you can decorate your card as you like. I have cut more nesting circles and scallop ovals etc

and made a Rose from the rose creations. If you need instructions for the rose. it will be comming on the Down under inspirations site too...shortly

spellbinder roses

hi all i have had a busy week, getting easter treat boxes ready and kids grading for tae kwon do...not to mention work. but there is always time to scrap and create.

I have been having so much fun with Spellbinders Rose creations, they make fabulous flowers and I can think of so many ways to make them, that it drives me crazy i havnt the time to do them. I cant say how wonderful I think they are, cos there is so many sizes you can cut several at once ...they come with leaves and the design is so forgiving if you miss

and cut off an edge ( it just looks like a curled or cut off petal, like real roses they have flaws too you know) I love making cabbage roses and a sort of briar rose. I cant show you too much as they are part of my Design team challenge. but i will give you a teaser....look for ward to seeing the whole pages at the end of the month...

down under direct design team member

Design team member

I saved the best to the last, i recently won a spot on a Design team for Down Under Direct, a wonderful paper company who supply us all with Bazzill cardstock which I have always loved using. they also supply Spellbinders and Just Rite stamps, which i love too, so it wont be much of a hardship designing for them.

I was really pleased to be included, the other 3 girls who are on the team have really good work and I love their blogs so much better than mine, I hope to be able to make some really creative things and learn heaps. We won a new Grand Calibur, machine, cant wait to play with that and some dies and stamps and cardstock. I am pumped for the next 12 months of creativity...i have uploaded my page and cards that won....

I am also going to Print Blocks Creative block...3 days of classes and workshops...what a dream . from suppliers like terasa collins sizzix and maya road...you can do 8 classes i think and all of them are fantastic..this will be in may and i hope to be so inspired...
