Today I am sharing an altered bird cage, featuring Imaginarium
chip letters one of my favourtie sets ..
it is so versatile and as all the letters are joined it easily pops out to be
decorated and altered how ever you like.
I have spary painted the bird cage,
and then sprayed with adhesive, while tacky I have coated it with
white glitter, to make it sparkle. Then just decorate as you like,
I have used Prima flower sprays.

CHA
Visions of CHA 2013
Well I am back in the land of Aussie, had a big long sleep and set to get inspired for 2013. There are many things about travelling that are great and many that are not, long plane rides being the not so great lol. I am sharing with you lots of photos of some of the people I met and some I caught up with, from the top, is lovely Brandin O'Neill the designer of Websters papers, her resin products were beautiful. Then the fantastic Teresa Collins, who I had met before, her booth was just typical Teresa style. Paulette Jarvey from HOT OFF THE PRESS was there I have known her for ages. I was very pleased to meet Jodie-lee designer for Prima of the fairy belle and Nature
garden range. Of course Tim Holtz was there with his new Distress Paints, he always had a crowd around him so no photo op there lol. Lovely Louise was the first person I met in Anaheim, and one
of the last I caught up with at the end.
I also caught up with Stacey Caron from Spellbinders, they won the most innovative product with the Imperial Gold range, you are just going to love them, they emboss, cut and de emboss, truly 3 d. They have new embossing folders that are 3 d too, and Media Mixage, the make your own trinkets and jewellery range that is just awesome. And I met up with the delightful Donna Salazar, she is really as lovely as she seems on line, and us Aussies, really have embraced her product, I hope to see even more of Donna's products in the future, she has a great mixed media range of papers that I hope to see here on sale soon.

Boy Layouts
I am still here in chilly Anahiem, at CHA, meeting lots of designers, and crafty folk, if you take a peek at
http://www.facebook.com/AustralianScrapbookIdeas you will see loads of photos of the people I have met. Today I plan on taking photos of products and the stores, they are amazing!
Meanwhile, here I have 2 boy layouts for you. they both feature Sprightly Sprockets and texture paste, but have different results. The bottom one was a bit of an accident, I loved the look of a scrap sheet that I had used for spraying mists, I had used texture paste on the side with a notebook template, so it went form there. I have cut lots of sprockets from cardstock and glued them directly to the sprayed up card, with gel medium. then I have covered with gesso, and re sprayed where I wanted to. It is completely random, but I love that about it. You can see some eggshell in there too, thanks to Gabrielle Pollacco lol This is using the same technique as the blossom layout below, but see how you can achieve very different looks and colours.
The first layout is more traditional, using the same ingredients really, I have texture pasted only in spots and sprayed it with mists, I have cut out the sprockets from foil board, placed everything on the layout and then swiped gesso where ever I wanted to lighten the shine and impact of an item.
Both photos of of my eldest boy Brandon, I love that I have been able to use older photos, he dosn't allow me to take photos much now he is a cool teenager lol

blossom
This mixed media layout, is one of my favourite techniques, simply cut out shapes with spellbinders and adhere them to spritzed cardstock, I have used gel medium to glue them well. Once dry paint with gesso and spritz with various mists and sprays. No two layouts will ever be the same but I love that about it. I have also made some Rose Creations flowers, and used pearl swirls from ZVA, I know it seems like sacrilege but I have painted over them in gesso so they blend with the background and provide only texture not shine, in this instance.

dance
Okay here is the first layout of the year, this year I am trying not to use so many flowers, so lets see how I go, still will use them, just trying a few mixed media things, and of course Imaginarium chip. This layout though has Dusty Attic peacock feather, using up left overs lol. This photo is of my Grandmother and her brother as they went to their first Dance, those were the days ! I wanted an Art Deco look to it, the butterfly is an eggshelled piece I made with the help of Gabrielle Pollacco, as seen in issue 18 of Australian Scrapbook ideas.
I have created a background with texture paste and Dylusions sprays, I used lumieres on the peacock feathers, they just seem to match the iridescence of the feathers and the ornate frame is one of the Die D-lites Flourish Trim. This range of mini spellbinders are just great for creating little interesting elements on the page.
