Princess Page with crepe flowers

I have done a few pages in the last few weeks. This one is of an old photo of my daughter, with the royal wedding everybody is talking of Princesses and my daughter did her share of tiara wearing, though I do have a few shots she would rather I not share! Here I have used white crepe paper and randomly glimmer misted it in three colours, once dry I have scrunched it in a spiral, like you do ribbon roses, round and round folding and arranging as you go, then heat set again and glue onto a circle of card...use on any page great for vintage. I have also used the Spellbinders butterfly with lots of graduated glitter...

hope you like it

down under inspirations card

Well my first card is up on the Down Under Inspirations site...see link on the right hand side of my blog to go there...this card is really very easy to make just use one of the beaded circle dies to cut out a folded card (all you have to do is have the edge of a folded card inside the die so it dosnt cut) then cut another whole beaded circle to use as the front of the easel style card. score one side of the folded card. so you can use this to adhere the single beaded circle to the bottom part...then it sits up.

Tthen you can decorate your card as you like. I have cut more nesting circles and scallop ovals etc

and made a Rose from the rose creations. If you need instructions for the rose. it will be comming on the Down under inspirations site too...shortly

Magic carousel

I was so happy with this little interactive card/book that I had to share it. Made from card stock I have cut out 6 small cards, then with the spellbinders cut a square on each card both sides except 2 which I cut only one side. then you cut a slope on the top of each card while folded. Assemble each card together with tape slipping in a narrow piece of card in the centre of each window also leave the top un stuck so you can slip in the roof later. the roof is just a trinangle (sized to suit your card)with 2 flaps either side cut out 6 from double sided paper, and score along flap..tape into the top where each card joins and where you have left it unstuck. Add some carousel horses, I have used an old Whale of a punch, glitter and covers, dont forget some ribbon to close it, a few flowers etc and there you have a wonderful gift for a new mum, she can then fold it up and pop it away, after the novelty has worn off, or baby is walking.

Easter treat

because next sunday is Easter I have made a little treat, along with the 18 treat boxes and papered eggs and handmade choc eggs. This cute little Easter pick, sits in each noodle box and is tied to the handle...the bunny is a penny black and one of my most used Easter stamps...and of course i have used spellbinders circles to make the circle base...cute

sweet music

Well the Holidays have just started for us, and Sweet music there is NOT!they are already fighting and driving me up the wall. Which is not the usual case. I will have to sort out the problem before getting into my work. I love holidays because I usually get a lot done, not having to pick up kids and take them to various activities...extra time for me lol.

I did finish a really lovely page called sweet music using organza flowersI know they are old news, but I have found that if you buy organza by the meter/yard, you get better colours than ribbon and you are not restricted to size.

I have cut out circles and melted the sides with a candle and added matching tulle layers to the flowers. For the centres I have used small beads. I also have added a tulle ruffle on the edge of the page which I love. Yesterday I taught this flower and the others that I like to do, in a class at Paper Trenz and everybody said they loved them. I hope they are all inspired to make lots of lovely flowers, in many different ways, mixing and matching methods and ideas. They can be so rewarding to make and match your layout much better than any purchased flower. Besides "you made it yourself" which is the best thing

magic happens

another page I have had fun creating, with the new kaiser papers range...of "magic Happens"

I had a beautiful pic of my daughter in a purple fairy dress(you cant actually see much of it)

so i just had to use this range of paper. I have combined it with a vibrant purple hand made paper which I have brushed over with iridescent medium. The flowers are using Tim Holtz

tattered florals and cutting from an old book and also Tissue paper...it really fluffs up well.

I also cut some daisies from DRYER sheets...that's right old dryer sheets after you use them can be recycled and I then I glimmer misted them purple, added stickles around the edge and you have a lovely flower..I had a try of hand makingrhinstone swirls...in the end I was happy with the result...but I hope my petulant fairy is!!!

spellbinder roses

hi all i have had a busy week, getting easter treat boxes ready and kids grading for tae kwon do...not to mention work. but there is always time to scrap and create.

I have been having so much fun with Spellbinders Rose creations, they make fabulous flowers and I can think of so many ways to make them, that it drives me crazy i havnt the time to do them. I cant say how wonderful I think they are, cos there is so many sizes you can cut several at once ...they come with leaves and the design is so forgiving if you miss

and cut off an edge ( it just looks like a curled or cut off petal, like real roses they have flaws too you know) I love making cabbage roses and a sort of briar rose. I cant show you too much as they are part of my Design team challenge. but i will give you a teaser....look for ward to seeing the whole pages at the end of the month...
