cherish
This is my latest layout for Down Under, here of course I have made the flowers, I am really loving making them with stamens, available from cake shops, a little bit more fiddly but look great. I am also loving applying water to the paper and scrunching it up, you can get some really interesting shapes and a softness in your layout, as well as real dimension.

Visions of the future
This layout uses different colours for me, but still one of my favourtie combinations, what I like about teal and red, is that it is ok for masculine pages, with out losing a feminine colour like red and pink. These are my three children and every time I photograph them I wonder what will they be in the future, they are good at so many things that they have a whole range of things they could grow up to be. The two youngest are black belts in Tae Kwon Do and the oldest is training now for his, but they all like music and art too and of course technology.
This time I have used the rose creations and instead of using a brad to assemble them I am using a bunch of stamens, it can be more fiddly, but I love the look of the tea rose, I have some pages coming up that show off this technique much more. So keep an eye out. Of course this page uses lots of red velvet glimmer mist and spellbinders, for a list check out Down Under Inspirations on the side.

Today I share this layout of my daughter, here I was experimenting with framing the photo with die cuts to look like lace. I have used the Spellbinders Moroccan Accents, some Dusty Attic chip and tried a looser look for the flowers, so that they look like tea roses. I will be teaching these roses in the coming months at Paper Trenz, I also have a class coming up at Print Blocks on the 27th of July, and the theme is Christmas in July, I am doing a pop up page that is truly unique to me, as I invented it lol. Imagine a tree that you can pull up out of the page, and fold back up again and store away!!
I have a heavy workload for the next week or two, to get all my tasks done.

No layout for you this time, I will share all the photos of people I met at the show, As Commissioning Editor of Australian Scrapbook Ideas I met many many people, some who are on our design team and some who are legends in their own scrapbooking right.
Perhaps you might recognize Tim Holtz and wonderful Jane Tregenza, but some of the others were Rebecca Beattie, Karen Shadey, Kylie Liston, Jo Baker, Heather Mcmahon, among others. I had a great time, the buzz of the show was Tim and his products, they were everywhere, and the concentration was on mediums, spritzes, glimmer mists, inks, paints and sprays. Of course I did some serious shopping in between working on the stand, and meeting and greeting the royalty of scrapbooking lol.

Fairy tale Dreams
It has been pelting down rain here, so once my editing duties were done with yesterday, what better time that to do some Scrapbooking, not much else you can do right? I have been on a bit of a Fairytale kick lately, they are the hot new theme, seems every where you look there is a movie or TV show about it. I love the darker side of fairy tales, and have done a series of these, (but cant show you yet) This page is for teaching at Paper Trenz http://papertrenz.com.au/ in June, it is using one of the lovely Prima Fairy Belle Collections and while it has my daughter in a fairy costume you could easily put a wedding photo in here too, or any child playing in the garden. I have chosen a Black and white photo, so as not to clash with the subtle colours in the layout(new for me lol) I love the faux opal on the side and the enameled butterfly, both things I love to do and will show you how to do at the class.
